The Rotary Dehumidifier EDV4000 is the first home/office dehumidifier from Boaters Catalog to use innovative rotary desiccant technology to provide high volume dehumidification without requiring a compressor. The unit is safer than compressor-based systems and designed for low maintenance operation, with a high capacity water catch basin that requires only periodic emptying. Also includes a built-in ionizer and bacteria-killing filter to improve air quality, if needed.
The Eva-Dry Rotary Dehumidifier EDV4000 is designed for medium to larger spaces of up to 4000 cubic feet, including:

Units of a similar size require a compressor to adequately dehumidify the air. The EDV-4000 is the only unit of its kind available in the US.
How Does a Rotary Desiccant Dehumidifier Work?
The desiccant rotor absorbs moisture in the air. The moisture in the rotor is then evaporated by a heater and condensed through a condenser at room temperature.

Because rotary desiccant technology uses no refrigerant, like similar units with compressors, it is more environmentally friendly.
Better Results at Lower Temperatures
The desiccant dehumidifier maintains high dehumidification in its working range, while the compressor type works poorly under 20°C or 15°C, at which point defrosting occurs.
Wide Range of Relative Humidity
The desiccant dehumidifier maintains high dehumidification in lower air humidity conditions, such as in 40% or 50% relative humidity (RH), where the compressor type works poorly.
